A 20 year old female patient came with complain of painless swelling of lip since 2 months.She had history of lip biting. There was no significant medical history.
On intraoral examination, a round, solitary, fluctuant swelling was seen on the inner aspect of the lower lip. Color of the swelling was the same as that of the adjacent mucosa. No other oral anomalies were detected. Patient had a positive history of lip biting habit.
The lesion was diagnosed as a mucocele based on the clinical features and history of lip biting habit.
Excision of mucocele was done and primary closure achieved with 3/0 silk suture and specimen sent for histopathological examination.
